The Majestic Darwin Range

The Darwin Range, located in the heart of the Alberto de Agostini National Park on the island of Tierra del Fuego, rises impressively within the Chilean landscape. This natural treasure, part of the great Andes, remains pristine, marked by peaks reaching notable heights, with Mount Shipton standing as the highest point of the range on the island at 2,469 meters above sea level.

As we sail west through the Beagle Channel, the mountains rise higher, signaling our imminent arrival at the majestic Darwin Range. In this magnificent setting, the “senos” glaciers advance continuously, accumulating snow and ice in a perpetual cycle. We will venture into the Seno Pía fjord.

Unforgettable Natural Spectacles

Within the fjords, we will witness one of nature’s most sublime spectacles. Snow-capped mountains and massive glaciers will take your breath away, while curious birds greet us fearlessly.

From Ushuaia to Puerto Williams

After organizing our gear on board, we will formalize our departure with the authorities before setting off for Puerto Williams, where we will complete Chile’s immigration and customs procedures. After about 4 to 5 hours of sailing, we will manage our entry into Chile and request permission to sail in the fjord region, known for being authorized for sports navigation.

Our course will take us westward, exploring the Beagle Channel and passing by iconic places such as Murray Channel, Lapataia Bay, and Yendegaia Bay, hoping to find refuge in Caleta Olla if the weather permits. Here, we can explore a nearby glacier with just a short walk.
